9 Ways To Be Happy and Make Something of Your Life

1. Be grateful

      The first step for happiness is being grateful. Being grateful is an important characteristic to have because you have the understanding of appreciation and thankful for the things that others may provide for you. This is also shows your gratitude to others. There is quote that says "A grateful heart is a happy heart" and I believe that this quote is true because showing that you are thankful to others shows people the positive mood you are in which leads to show how happy someone is. This is why being grateful is one of the 9 ways to be happy and make something of your life because this one characteristic helps with so many things in your everyday life. By being grateful you will also influence other people around you leading to a more positive environment which results to a happier life if you can surround yourself in a  positive environment.




2. Be Smart

      The second step for happiness is to be smart. Being smart is also important because it enables you to make good decisions and lead to a better life style if you are always putting yourself in a place to succeed.This characteristic also shows that you can be an independent person who does not need to rely on other people because you can do things on your own. Being smart opens up a lot of possibilities for yourself and you learn many things from yourself like learning how to be responsible. Being smart also helps with your self esteem because you feel good about yourself and having a good self esteem is also sings of a good and healthy life. It also helps you make wise decisions and helps you choose from right and wrong.

3. Be Involved in Good Works

     The third step to happiness is being involved in good works. Being involved in good works is beneficial because it means you are helping others and are involved with good things. Having good character has proven to a healthier life. Good woks helps you feel good about yourself since you are giving back to the community and helping the environment around you be more positive and a better suitable place to live. Overall doing things like this help build character and you get to learn valuable lessons from the things you experience. Good works can be as simple as donating, or doing things to help the environment. There is a quote that says "let your good deeds be like rain drop a little everywhere" and its important because you should spread positive thing around every where you go and you will find yourself being happy.

4. Be Clean

     The fourth step to happiness is to be clean. Being clean helps with happiness because it helps with your self esteem. Being clean can be anything like being organized or not doing drugs. It helps with being happy because you have that awareness that your not doing things you shouldn't be doing. Most importantly it helps with your self esteem having this is proven to live a healthier life which leads to happiness. Being clean can also be as simple as not having any bad marks on your record. Also having a clean environment around you is important because it allows you to relax and concentrate better. There is a quote that says "being green and clean is not just and aspiration but an action" and I think this is true because people should strive for these things then just saying they want to be those things.

5. Be True

     The fifth step to happiness is being being true. Being true can be a lot of things like simply being honest and being true to the people that are close to you. Being true to your friends and family is important because they are the people who are always going to be there for you in difficult times. Also being honest is a good thing its important to stay true to yourself and don't get caught up in lies because it's always better to just be honest. Honesty is a key to happiness because you feel good about yourself knowing you did the right thing. Sometimes it might be tough to admit it but it;s better to do it then to not doing it at all. There is quote that says " Be careful who you pretend to be. You might forget who you are." and its important because it shows how being honest is important and how you should't get caught up in lies.

6. Be Positive

      The sixth step to happiness is to be positive. Being positive is a key to happiness because it helps out your mental health. If you have a good mental health chances are you are most likely going to be happy. Being positive can also influence the people around you by motivating them. It also shows good character, having good character is important because its shows happiness. Being positive is important because it helps you when ever you are facing adversity. Knowing that you can make any problem better by being positive and not letting things get to you is important because it also shows how resilient you are. There is quote that says "Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right." ,and I agree with this quote because people always look at at the negative things then for things that can actually go right. People always look for a reason for something to be bad but by being positive you can get rid of that mindset and finally start living your life so you can be happy.

7. Be Humble

      The seventh step to happiness is being humble. It's good to be humble because it shows great character. It's important to not boast about yourself or don't get caught up with yourself. It's fine to be proud of yourself for the good things you have done but don't let those things get to your head. It shows maturity because people will see that your intentions as pure then to just make yourself look good. Being humble shows that you don't see yourself better then everyone else and you stay level headed. This lead to happiness because you are not arrogant. By being humble people will want to mimic what you do because they see that it is  important to be all those things so you can live a life full of happiness and joy. There is quote that says " being humble means recognizing that we are not on Earth to see how can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others." and i agree with this quote because people get caught up on how good they can be then seeing the bigger picture.

8. Be Still

       The eighth step to happiness is to be still. To be still means to be complacent and able to go through your trials in life. It can also mean to be silent person and keep things to yourself. For example a lot of times you are going to hear things you don't like or get into arguments and sometimes you may say things you didn't mean to say in the heat of the moment. That's why it's important to be still because you don't want to live your life in vain. There is a quote that says "learning how to be still, To really be still and let life happen- that stillness becomes a radiance." and I think this quote is true because it says to express yourself in that way.

9. Be Prayerful


Final Reflection

          These 9 ways are key to happiness in life. It's important to do these things because it helps as in overall person. If you can apply all of these characteristics in your own life you will see that it really does work but it's important to always keep these steps in mind when you are going through tough times and when your happy. You will see yourself happier then ever. A good way to apply it to your life is to constantly remind yourself about these 9 steps.

At railroad grade crossings, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words, “Stop, Look, Listen.” They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.

I was riding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl was speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I can no longer see it. Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to a halt as the brakes gripped the wheels. We looked out the window on to the other side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happened in an instant.
